Indoor Cycling

Indoor Cycling, also known as Spinning, is a group exercise class done on stationary bikes. During the class the instructor simulates a ride. The class travels on flat roads, climb hills, sprint and race! It is  a wonderful cardiovascular class & workout.

The great thing about indoor cycling is that you can do it even when its raining or snowing outside! The instructor keeps the class motivated.

Some instructores match the music to the ride.When the music is slow some instructors guide you to do hill climbs, the  sprint to fast music. The  music often has constantly changing tempos, as well as intervals.

Stationary Cycling Advantages

  • Although Cycling outdoors is a great way to workout you have to deal with  constant traffic, signals and air pollutions . Not to mention adverse weather conditions.
  • Indoor Stationary Cycling can be a useful here. You can also use Stationary Cycling to cross train between various aerobic and cardio activities such as treadmill running and rowing machines.
  • People with knee and back problems find recumbent stationary bikes easier and better than cycling outdoors.
  • Newer computerized ones with air resistance and fancy gadgets are available.
  • Stationary Cycling is a great exercise to increase cardiorespiratory (heart and lung) health, decrease your body fat, reduce risk of heart disease, lower risk of injury, and improve low back muscle endurance.

Cycling is a rigorous exercise and it helps immensely in increasing one's stamina and it aids

sufficiently in weight loss as it increases the metabolism rate considerably.

Research has shown that an average 30 minute indoor cycling class will help you burn around 500 calories.

 Indoor cycling will tone your thighs, calfs, hips, butt, and core. It is especially great for the thighs.

Find an indoor cycling program at your local gym and start melting those pounds away and get in shape or just cycle to get in shape or stay in shape.
